1st Edition in Port Ginesta

The competition took placed in Port Ginesta located just 15 minutes from Barcelona. This port has grown to become a leading catamaran marina all over Europe. The event was organized in two stages with a test which started on Saturday, a short leg of one mile, and continue Sunday with a long race.

Six multihulls registered for this first edition: 1 C-Cat 48, 1 Catana 431 and 1 Catana 582, 1 Fountain Pajot Belize 43, 1 Dragon Fly 920 Evolution and 1 Nautitech 40 Open. The Multihull Rally & Race has been supported by the main multihull distributors in Spain: Catamarans Barcelona (Lagoon), Med Cat Group (Bali), Hermanos Guasch (Excess) and Catamaran Center (Catana). Also, Pedro Egea, from Catamaran Center, contributed with his Powercat Philysa that hosted the regatta committee.
Even thought, we had few winds knots all the participants were happy and enjoyed this amazing experience.

In addition to the sporting and participatory aspect of this event, the social feature should not be forgotten. Thanks to the organization of dinners animated by music, all the participants were able to spend a nice moment of relaxation and fun. The first edition of this event especially dedicated to the world of multihulls has come to an end, now we only need to wait next year for the second edition!
