It’s no secret that Florida is by far the strongest boating market in the USA. And even in a market that’s running out of wind, the prospects of making sales are far more likely in range of the Keys and the Bahamas than at European indoor boat shows.
Against this backdrop, it came as no surprise to find the major American players in the powercats world, such as Horizon, but also the Chinese-American Aquila Power Catamarans, the world leader in powercats. This manufacturer unveiled a world preview of its Aquila 47 Molokai - exclusively tested in our latest Power Special Edition #21.
Discover our Aquila 47 Molokai's Review Teaser:
Major industry players, such as South Africa’s Robertson & Caine, which is very well established in the United States, rubbed shoulders with the likes of Sunreef Yachts, a builder that didn’t hesitate to unveil its 80 Sunreef Power ECO driven by electric motors; Prestige Yachts and its new range of powercats; and VisionF Yachts with a new 82 in aluminum. FLIBS unveiled few multihull sailboats, but a number of 28- to 40-foot powercats designed for fast cruising or for big-game fishing, and of course pontoon boats, which are very popular in the USA.
