The Covid health crisis and a boating market that’s progressively producing larger and larger models, are two factors that took their toll on the London and Paris events... Two years ago, we wondered whether the famous boot Düsseldorf would suffer the same fate, especially as the manufacturers of sailing multihulls had clearly passed the word to boycott the show last year...
But boot has a solid case in its favor: for a start, it adjoins the Rhine, offering river access to the largest craft. And this year, the 16 exhibition halls attracted some 1,500 exhibitors from 67 countries, and 200,000 visitors.
As for multihulls, although the booths were back, in terms of actual boats, we had to make do with the Excess 11, the Dragonfly 28 and 36 (making its world premiere) and the Tricat 6.90. Powercats, on the other hand, were much more in evidence, with the Dracan 42, Four Winns 36, Prestige M48 and Yot 41.
Dates for next year’s boot Düsseldorf have already been announced - January 17 to 25, 2026.
