Zen Yachts, builder of solar-electric catamarans that boast zero emissions, announces that it has obtained € 5.5 million in funding from Ocean Zero LLC and is launching the pre-sale of four ZEN50s.
This catamaran has been designed from the start as a solar-electric ocean-going yacht: the objective is unlimited range thanks to the adoption of a light carbon fiber structure and a high-tech computer-controlled Wingsail (designed by French company AYRO). The hulls will be built by an industrial partner in southern Spain, with the equipment and finishing of the multihulls controlled directly by ZEN staff in its assembly yards. ZEN Yachts will be attending the International Multihull Show, the Cannes Yachting Festival in September, the FLIBS in Fort Lauderdale, and the Salon Náutico Internacional de Barcelona 2022. ZEN Yachts is actually based in the Catalan capital, where the young brand will host the first ZEN Community Days on June 8 and 9, 2023. This open house event will welcome all eco-yacht enthusiasts to meet the ZEN team and visit the ZEN Lab, where they will unveil all the possibilities offered by high-level technology to decarbonize boating - from ultra-lightweight construction to advanced energy management and propulsion systems.
