South African builder Xquisite has been a key player in the energy transition in the boating world for several years now, with most of its new models aiming to go one step further towards complete energy autonomy, such as the X54 E-Plus.
This blue water cruising catamaran is a foverer green evolution of the X5 Plus (itself derived from the X5), with a parallel hybrid drivertrain, a super-powerful 60 kWh lithium battery bank and no less than 4.12 kWp of solar panels (distributed over the coachroof, bimini and arch).
The X54 E-Plus also introduces a number of evolutions, including a new interior design, a new design for the sugarscoops, a practical retractable swim ladder with handrails, semi-recessed deck hatches and a very impressive black lacquered rig. The helmsman is perfectly protected from the elements and benefits from a furling mainsail. But less pollution doesn’t mean less elegance: the builder offers hull paints and a North Sails wardrobe in black laminate...
