Tornado Worlds

Just because the Tornado has lost its Olympic status, doesn't mean that it isn't still a fabulous machine, offering some exceptional racing (in any case, this is the opinion of the magazine's boss - a huge fan of the Tornado).

This year, the World's took place on Lake Garda, and 41 crews representing 11 nations were present to do battle, including numerous candidates for the supreme title.
As is often the case at the Worlds, we had to wait until the last day for the podium to be finally decided, and the light breezes on Lake Garda played on the competitors' nerves. But in the end, the Greek crew, Iordanis Paschalidis and Konstantinos Trigkonis won easily, with 6 firsts in the 8 legs sailed, ahead of Roland Gaebler and Nahid Gaebler (first mixed crew) and Matteo Ferraglia and Lorenzo Bianchini.
See you next year for the 2013 Worlds, which will take place on Ibiza...
