Seacat

A hybrid powercat with a futuristic design

Some exciting projects remain (unfortunately) on computer screens, while others, like that of builder Rossinavi, come to fruition and these never fail to impress...

The Seacat concept was unveiled at Miami Design Week 2021, and the start of the build was announced at the 2022 Monaco Yacht Show. Less than two years later, the Viareggio, Italy-based manufacturer launched its first multihull, a powercat with futuristic and aggressive lines... Note the steeply inverted bows and, notably, the Portuguese deck protected by superstructures whose automotive-inspired design is reminiscent of the curve of the waves. But in terms of innovation, it’s the technical features of Seawolf X that are the most remarkable: this aluminum catamaran has been designed to meet three performance scenarios that are as environmentally friendly as possible. For day cruising, the Seacat 40 can sail in full electric mode 100% of the time. For multi-day cruises, it can use electric power 90% of the time, and even 80% for ocean passagemaking. When the catamaran is at anchor, a “hibernation” mode is activated for reduced consumption - the energy generated by the solar panels can be put back to the dock or to a private property for example.

Rossinavi has also developed an on-board artificial intelligence system (called Rossinavi AI) to analyze the vessel’s operation, predict guests’ needs and communicate with the crew on low environmental impact behaviors.

Inside, accommodation has been designed for 10 guests in four cabins and 7 crew members. The particularly convivial cockpit features a swimming pool, a vast terrace with sun loungers and various living areas. On the foredeck, you’ll find another swimming pool and a space convertible into a home cinema.
