Racing in the Caribbean

Racing has continued throughout the winter in the West Indies, and multihulls have particularly livened up the series, with top of the range boats competing on Caribbean waters to show off their speed.

Concerning the Gunboats, Xavier Desmarest, co-founder of the Grand Large Yachting Group, now owner of the emblematic brand, took advantage of the opportunity to race in the BVI Spring Regatta on the Gunboat 66 ‘Extreme H2O’, accompanied by some members of the VPLP design team, in charge of designing the brand new Gunboat 68. A good way of confirming the future performance of the new boat!

This winter’s regattas have above all allowed us to see the Gunboat fleet confront the HH66 Nala (with Gino Morelli, the boat’s architect and an outstanding helmsman aboard) and the Outremer 5X the DOMinator, all of which have shown impressive speed potential.
