Olympic sailing in French Polynesia

Young Tahitians will soon be able to devote themselves to Olympic sailing, and launch into hard-fought competitions aboard Nacra 17s.

The juniors haven’t been forgotten either, as Nacra 15s will soon be crisscrossing the waters of the Polynesian lagoons.  All this came about after the junior World Championships in New Zealand, where a Tahitian crew was able to take part. “Our youngsters came back after the World Championships and wanted to train in our waters...but there were no boats available. This is why we began discussions with Nacra, who immediately expressed a wish to support our young Polynesian champions,” David Allouch, manager of Bora Bora Yacht Broker, explained to us. The first boats will be delivered at the end of 2017, and the idea is to quickly set up some training courses with competitors from all over the world.
