Nice Ultimed

The Ultim class trimarans will be meeting up at Nice, in the most beautiful bay in the world (and incidentally where the Multihulls World office is located), for a brand-new competition in 2018.

The Nice Ultimed will be raced from 28th April to 6th May 2018, fully crewed and as close to the public as possible for a complete show. The idea is that the start will be given close to the shore, then the trimarans can have the time of their lives on an offshore course, before returning to the finish in the famous ‘Baie des Anges’. A unique format offering the advantages of both a ‘nautical stadium’ and offshore racing.

The winner of the last Vendee Globe, Armel Le Cléac’h (Banque Populaire XI), the holder of the singlehanded round the world record, Thomas Coville (Sodebo) and Yves Le Blévec (Actual) have already announced their participation. François Gabart (Macif) has made his attempt on the singlehanded round the world record his priority. He could be present, if work on the boat after the record attempt allows.
