The initials chosen for this model, whose plans have just been unveiled, could create a semblance of confusion with the McConaghy - it’s M for Mylius, a renowned Italian builder offering their first motor catamaran, hence the C for Cat.
The MC66 is a Ceccarelli Yacht Design project, with interiors designed and developed by Parisotto + Formenton. The powercat looks to be very luxurious, with the bulwark sculpted out along the midships section of the deck, lightening the overall silhouette, while offering maximum glazed surface area for the nacelle. The inverted bows are at a steep angle at the top, so that the deck itself starts relatively far back. This configuration ensures good weight centering and will limit pitching. Close to the waterline, the chine should limit spray effects. The 66 will be equipped as standard with a pair of Volvo IPS700 engines, each rated at 550 hp.
