The Swedish designer Dennis Ingemansson, who specializes in superyachts, has created, in close cooperation with the Turkish boatyard NedShip Group, a project for a futuristic catamaran with rounded lines, somewhat reminiscent of the concept cars to be found in the auto world, and notably that of the sports cars.
With this project, we are in the world of superyachts: 50m long with a beam of 16.5m, a 3.75m draft and engine power allowing it to reach a top speed of 22 knots, while having a range of 8,500 miles at 12 knots! But this enormous project is also completely up to date: it uses ecological solutions to optimize its operating costs. For example, it is equipped with 160m² of solar panels, and hybrid solutions with additional electric motors which are used to propel the boat when cruising slowly. The owner can also envisage fitting wind generators to increase ‘soft’ energy production still further.
‘Follow the Sun’s’ exterior lines are sophisticated and futuristic, and include a large helipad. Because on this type of boat, it’s impossible to imagine embarking without your helicopter... But don’t worry: for those of you who don’t want a helicopter, there is a 42-metre version of this catamaran without a helipad (see photo). Inside there are huge areas divided between 5 decks, including two owner’s suites which can be joined to make one, 4 guest cabins and quarters for the 6 crew members plus the captain. The sundeck houses a Jacuzzi, whilst the main forward deck is occupied by a large, curved swimming pool...
A big yacht in a catamaran version: a real must!
