The French manufacturer of electric outboard motors now has a subsidiary in America, Temo USA Inc., with an operational hub in Portland, Maine. The company already has a logistics center for product management and after-sales service department, as well as sales offices staffed by a dedicated team.
Of the 5,000 electric motors sold worldwide since 2019, 300 have been sold to American and Canadian buyers, while Temo products were only launched in North America a year ago.
For Nick Steenberg, newly appointed Business Development Manager for Temo USA, Temo motors are perfectly suited to the US market: “Boaters who enjoy cruising under sail or the inland waterways can benefit from quick installation and quiet trips out on the water. The main reason people choose the Temo·450 is its light weight.” The 450, which we’ve been able to test on two occasions, weighs just 11 lbs (5 kg).
Temo USA will be displaying the carbon version of the Temo·450 at the Annapolis Sailboat Show.
To support its launch in the United States, the brand has just opened a website dedicated to the North American market www.temo-usa.com, as well as LinkedIn and Instagram pages. The launch is also being accompanied by an extensive digital communications campaign.
