Yes, but what is easy when racing with a professional crew becomes more complicated on a family cruise. This is notably the case with the headboard, which has to be disconnected from the cars so that the square head can be correctly stowed in the lazy bag. In short, this is not always practical whilst cruising... Elvstrom have just presented a headboard which can be disconnected, associated with a 2 : 1 halyard, which allows the square head to swing into the lazy bag, with no other operations than letting go the halyard. Simply tensioning the halyard reconnects everything when the mainsail is hoisted. Simple and practical!
