Designed by Fortabat Yacht Design and built in Thailand at Catathaï, the Andaman 49 is an ocean cruising boat aboard which everything has been thought out for cruising comfort.
For example, the weight centering is optimized (engines, tanks and batteries are as close as possible to the center of gravity) and the tall, powerful sail plan combined with a hull with slim underwater lines favors speed in light winds, while having a considerable load-carrying capacity, provided by very carefully designed hull shapes...
To simplify maintenance, the builder has chosen to replace the saildrives with gearboxes and prop shafts, and a hatch above the propellers allows a rope to be removed without having to get into the water... The first three boats have been ordered.
