Caribbean 600

For its fifth edition, the RORC Caribbean 600 should beat all participation records, with at least thirty boats at the start.

Each year, this 600-mile race around 11 Caribbean islands allows participants to do battle in warm waters, propelled by powerful trade winds, and to combine the useful (the race) with the pleasant (sailing in the West Indies)!
This year, Antigua will again be welcoming the event, and super-yachts, monohulls and of course multihulls will be doing their best to try and approach the record for the event, still held by the 60' Orma 'Region Guadeloupe'. But this will be difficult, even though the trimaran Paradox, a 63-footer designed by Nigel Irens, could attempt to approach the reference time, and above all, beat all the monohulls on the water, including the giants of over 100', such as Leopard, a particularly fast Farr design...
Amongst the multihulls, we can also count on the Gunboat 66 'Phaedo', winner of the 'Multihull' class in 2011, to be amongst the leaders. In short, once again the multihulls should (inevitably) be the fastest boats on the water!
