We tested the Befoil 16 Sport in MW177 and had a great time discovering catamaran flying... there’s no doubt that the new Carbon version, just presented at the La Rochelle Boat Show, will really take the crew’s breath away!
The use of the famous miracle material for the hulls, the structure, the rigg and the appendages has allowed for a saving of 100 lbs (45 kg) - that is 25% of the original displacement. The Befoil 16 Carbon has a beautiful matte finish and a sail plan boosted to 205 square feet (19 m²) upwind, compared to 190 sq ft previously (17.7 m²). Many innovations have been made on this new model, such as the rake of the rudder blades, now constantly adjustable. An Archimedean version of the F16 is also available.
