We’ve found out a little bit more about the Ascat 63. Developed from the VMV53 '- already built by Adria Sail - the Ascat 63 project is piloted by Vittorio Malingri - a sailing star in Italy, decorated with numerous F20 records and with 500,000 nautical miles in his logbook.
His new catamaran will offer 4 cabins and an excellent level of comfort but aims to compete on the water with Gunboats, HHs, and the like. The finish looks to be excellent and the equipment delivered as standard, generous - carbon structure and rig, refrigerator, freezer, generator, watermaker, inverters, battery chargers etc. - while offering attractive prices. Together with the architect Marco Veglia, Vittorio has opted for a sleek design. The deck layout eliminates the need for any maneuvers forward, giving preference to two side cockpits, which are better protected according to the designers. The future owner will be able to customize his catamaran as he wishes, as each Ascat 63 will be designed as a semi-custom unit. Two basic versions have been announced: Cruise and Race.
