Arteran, the revival of the Estonian boatyards

Arteran Yachts is based on the island of Hiiumaa, in Estonia. Why this island?
Because for a long time, it has been an important place, where numerous Estonian ships were built. And the famous tradition of the Hiiumaa boatyards is coming alive again, as this spring the company will be launching the ArtCat 46, a motor catamaran designed by Kurt Hugues Sailing Designs. A modern boat, with good seakeeping qualities, making it a cruising boat which could appeal to a wide clientele. With 2 x 286hp engines, the ArtCat 46 has an advertised cruising speed of 22 knots, and a top speed of 26.
But this is not all, as the builder is intending to expand rapidly. Currently Arteran has a production capacity of 10 boats per year, and intends to offer very quickly a full range of catamarans, of up to 70 feet.
