We all know that it is not easy to arrive in a marina with a big multihull, as the welcome is not always equal to the sums asked for by the harbourmaster's offices, when we are not quite simply turned away.
Fortunately the ostracism in certain ports seems to be disappearing, and on the contrary, we are seeing more and more marinas clearly displaying their 'love' of catamarans. This is the case for Douro Marina, situated a few cables from Porto, in Portugal, which is equipped with a special pontoon for catamarans, where payment is by length and no longer by width... And as the prices locally for technical services and winter storage are very competitive, this marina could quickly become the place to visit for sailors on the trade wind route.
