Founded in Nantes, France, in April 1988, Compagnie des îles du Ponant made a name for itself with its first vessel, a 32-cabin sailing yacht named Ponant. The charter company, which became “Compagnie du Ponant” and then “Ponant”, grew rapidly, with its fleet now comprising 12 boats.

Being aware of the need to reduce carbon emissions, Ponant is equipping its smaller vessels with new battery banks and has ordered a hybrid exploration vessel. In line with this logic of reducing the size of its vessels and even offering personalized, more intimate cruising formats, the company has purchased a Lagoon Seventy 7. This catamaran has just commenced operations in Corsica and will be heading for the Seychelles next winter. Directly or via Sailoé, the catamaran’s managing agent, you can book one or more cabins, or why not, reserve the whole the multihull.
