In 1970, having revolutionized the world of footwear with their “Penny Loafer” moccasins, Sebago innovated with the very first Docksides and their legendary Portland model. Designed to be as comfortable ashore as at sea, their success was such that their name immediately became synonymous with all “boat” shoes.
Elegant, comfortable, untiring and durable, they established Sebago’s reputation for ever, propelling the brand into the ranks of the world's leading footwear manufacturers. Relatively light in weight (approx. 2 x 14 oz. / 400 g), Docksides are equipped with a flexible, ridged rubber sole that adheres to all surfaces, in all weathers, without leaving a trace. The brass eyelets are corrosion-resistant.
In 1984, Sebago became the first American company to sponsor a boat in a yacht race. The brand even became a partner of the America’s Cup, earning the prestigious title of official yachting footwear supplier to the U.S. sailing team.
Today, Docksides are made in the Dominican Republic with the same high quality craftsmanship that has been used for years... but the latest collections feature new materials and colors!
