The QR 14 is a heavy-duty rope clutch that uses the Double V Grip jaw system for 14 mm (app. 9/16” dia.) ropes.
Typically, with high loads, clutches are released after tension is taken up on the winch, which can result in valuable seconds being lost. With the QR 14 clutch, this is no longer necessary, even under full load. This is a clear advantage for our multihulls in the event of a sudden gust of wind, or in the event of an emergency. The rope slides freely - even with the handle closed - when the jaws are locked open inside. To switch to “lock closed” mode and activate the jaws, simply move the locking lever upwards. From a mechanical point of view, the jaws of the QR Double V Grip distribute the grip over a large contact area and on all four sides: the hold is more secure and ropes will suffer less damage.
