Three years after its launch, the MeisterSinger Unomat is getting a face-lift with this particularly attractive limited edition.
The matt black dial stands out from its predecessors with its white five-minute markers covered in luminescent material. The two-digit hour markers, meanwhile, are composed of luminous elements applied in three-D relief effect. While thicker, they absorb and emit light from the sides. They glow intensely in the dark, as does the single, large hand, ensuring perfect legibility. Equipped with a quick-set mechanism, the date display is 30% larger than that of the SW200 caliber, due to its unusual placement on the outside of the movement.
With a diameter of 43 mm, the stainless-steel case features robust shock protection for the crown and water resistance to 300 meters (985 feet). For this limited edition, the case has also been fully coated with DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon). Matt sandblasted over the entire surface and polished on the bezel, this coating’s diamond-like properties give the model extreme hardness and scratch resistance. The ensemble is rounded off by a strap matching the arctic blue of the numerals and made from a resistant yet supple rubber that is easy to clean.
In terms of the technical details, the Unomat is powered by the Swiss Sellita SW400 automatic caliber, specially modified for MeisterSinger single-hand watches. Shielded, this mechanism is surrounded by layers of soft iron, making it insensitive to the ubiquitous radiation from cell phones, electrical appliances and laboratory equipment. The Unomat offers resistance to magnetic fields up to 24,000 A/m, a threshold 5 times higher than Swiss watch industry standards.
Recommended retail price: €2,690
