At the Cannes Yachting Festival, French equipment manufacturer Facnor is launching a new hydraulic furler, the FXH2. The model on display at their booth (Groupe Wichard SAIL 144 / R09) is as compact as the electric FXE.
The hydraulic motor is protected by a watertight aluminum housing, and the titanium rigging terminal is suitable for high loads and multiple rotations. The new product makes it quick and easy to switch from manual to motorized mode. The FXH2 is available in three models - 7000, 9000 and 12000 - for maximum sail areas from 250 to 450 m² (2,690 to 4,840 square feet). This furler replaces the classic FXH version (more vertical) and completes the hydraulic range in a removable version, alongside the parallel integrated furlers of the IDXH range. If required, optional micro-hydraulic power units and deck passages can facilitate installation.
