A few years ago, we followed the progress of Thetys. She now has new owners and has set out on a new adventure.
Who: Toinette & Johan
Multihull: Nautitech 542
Where: Atlantic Ocean

The weather was still fresh as day broke on the 1st June. Thetys left the small harbor in Rouen (Normandy, France) heading out on a round the world voyage. It had taken Johan and Toinette 6 months to prepare their catamaran, and in particular the work needed to make her autonomous (solar panels, wind turbines and a hydro generator). Thetys is the flagship of the Nautitech shipyard and has already participated twice at the Cannes Yachting Festival. The miles flash by, and after stopovers at La Coruna in Galicia and Las Palmas in the Canaries, we find ourselves in the Cape Verde Islands. It’s a joy to see the sea turtles poking their heads out of the water, the flying fish that land on deck and the dolphins that play around the boat’s bows. There is also the welcome afforded by the Cape Verdeans, the rum and the music of Cesaria Evora. The Cape Verde Islands are certainly as idyllic as ever. We sailed for two months in the warm waters of this African paradise before crossing the Atlantic in the direction of Trinidad.
