As a big fan of kitesurfing, and having settled in Martinique a few years ago, I had in mind to take a trip to the Grenadines.
So five of us set off on a Neel 45, Cheyenne. And we weren't disappointed: picture postcard scenery with crystal clear turquoise-blue water, perfect anchorages with sandy bottoms and good holding... and above all, 18-20 knots of trade winds almost every day! Life here is peaceful, and there are loads of things to do - diving, deep-sea fishing, hiking, snorkeling, paddle-boarding and kitesurfing of course...
My experience with the Neel 45 has been a very positive one. This is a fast boat, which doesn't move about much. The habitability of one of the floats was perfect for us for storing all the kite equipment. The two large cabins are very well laid-out and comfortable. The forepeak is perfect for one person; for two, it may be a little more complicated. The other float is fitted with two single berths: they allow two children to sleep without any problems. For me, this multihull is aimed at a sailor who wants to see monohull-like behavior upwind, but with more space and above all much more speed. If you regularly cruise with three or four couples, this trimaran isn’t for you, but a couple with children, or two couples, it’s perfect!
