XO68

Launch of an eco-responsible blue water cruiser

Xtreme Ocean is launching a new 68-foot semi-custom catamaran designed for blue water cruising.

This new robust unit has been designed to accommodate a family of 6 or more crew, with a global vision of the environmental impact of its construction, use and eventual deconstruction. With this in mind, aluminum was chosen as the main material. The XO68 relies mainly on sustainable energy sources – over 300 square feet (30 m²) of lightweight Solbian solar panels and two powerful Torqeedo Deep Blue motors capable of acting as hydrogenerators when under sail meet almost all the electrical needs. A wastewater treatment plant and generously-sized holding tanks ensure that ecologically sensitive areas are not polluted.
