The forthcoming 92-foot catamaran announced by Wider Yachts continues with one of the brand's specialties, namely the mastery of mobile platforms. In this instance, the classic aft platform will be complemented by outwardly pivoting bulwarks, creating a huge uninterrupted horseshoe-shaped sundeck with direct access to some of the cabins.
The Wider 92, like all the boats developed by the manufacturer since 2010, also aims to sail emissions-free thanks to the use of solar energy. The first model will have a hybrid diesel-electric drivetrain, but a hydrogen fuel cell may be employed on a future model. The expected top speed is 15 knots, with a range of 3,000 miles at eight knots.
The Luca Dini studio has been commissioned for the exterior and interior design. The standard layout will offer four cabins to accommodate eight guests, and crew quarters for four. An option with five cabins is available for the charter market. An on-deck Jacuzzi is planned, as is a large tender garage.
Five units are already under construction at a recently purchased yard in Fano, Italy - the first Wider 92s are scheduled for launch in January 2023.
