In our 200th Anniversary issue, we featured a story on the origins of Multihulls World and talked about how Gilles Abeloos was as much a pioneer as a visionary. Launching a magazine exclusively devoted to multihulls back in 1985 was more than a daring challenge. And yet this is exactly he and his accomplices, André Manchon and Jean Ravel, did.

Gilles son, David Abeloos, contacted us to let us know of his father’s sudden passing at the age of 69 and sent us this photo. All of us here on the Multihulls World and Multicoques Mag team expresses our deepest sympathies and sends our sincere condolences to his family.
