The wrong way round the world

Yves le Blevec set off on 24th November 2017 for a particularly audacious challenge: to sail round the world singlehanded, via the Great Capes AND against the winds and currents.

In other words, the Everest of the seas! A challenge which is so hard that no one has ever attempted it in a multihull... Unfortunately for the skipper of the Ultim Actual, he capsized just after having rounded the Horn in difficult weather conditions, with 30 to 50 knots of wind, and gusts of up to 70… After a few hours in his upturned trimaran, Yves le Blevec was winched up into a helicopter by the Chilean coastguards. For the moment, it hasn’t been possible to recover the boat…
