This 110-foot sailing supercat has been designed by Marc Pajot with the help of Nicolas Fauroux, naval architect, and the team of Franck de Rivoyre/Christophe Larose, structural and rig engineers. The hulls will be made of aluminum and the deck of composite materials.
Two major innovations to be featured: a centered carbon mast with no boom (with a mainsail that comes out of, and stows back in a locker, so is set on an all-or-nothing basis) and VIP aft cabins giving onto the sugarscoops - which transform into a beach club thanks to retractable hull sides. The Eco Yacht intends to use these new concepts to convince superyacht owners to build a multihull superyacht. More info in our next issue, MW173.
