Switch Blade

Logistic support catamaran

Designer T. E. Goffrier and the carbon gurus at Fast Forward Composites have already made a big splash with their very successful Eagle Class 53 – elected Multihull of The Year 2020 in the over 50-foot category. They're going even further with this logistical support catamaran project. This category of vessel is in ever-increasing demand: it’s a question of managing and transporting anything that could “clutter up” the main yacht - such as a helicopter, a small sailboat or any equipment. The main original feature of this design are the so-called SWATH hulls: the raised platform is only connected to the underwater hull in certain places. The Switch Blade is 150 feet (45.5 m) in length and 50 feet (15 m) in the beam. The deck offers a surface area of 2,555 sq ft (237.5 m²). There is also a saloon/dining room of 1,830 sq ft (170 m²) that can open out to the sea, and a superb bridge measuring 1,570 sq ft (146 m²). Switch Blade is equipped with a hybrid propulsion system and more than 2,150 sq ft (200 m²) of solar panels.
