Their tenders are going electric!

At the big charter company The Moorings/Sunsail, the new OCEAN charter is being translated into Forever Green actions: the electric outboard ePropulsion Spirit 1.0 (1 kW power) has been adopted following a very conclusive test season in Greece over the course of last summer.

This motor, of course, is reserved for the smallest tenders (and small sailboats too), is nevertheless able to cover nearly 20 miles at 4 knots on just a single charge (obviously you can recharge the battery thanks to a 12V charger). What's the betting that we’ll see other more powerful electric motors soon replacing the regular outboards of 10 HP and more that are omnipresent on the dinghies carried aboard The Moorings and Sunsail-branded catamarans.
