The genesis of this near-100-meter (330-foot) multiyacht is an unusual one: it began last year after keen discussions with a potential client - who turned out not to be who he claimed to be. . But Albert Sedlmayer chose to continue with the project, and now hopes to win over a “real” client.
He has therefore opted for a catamaran platform with blade-protected bulbous bows and a DynaRig rig with two masts - a modern evolution of the old square-sails. There are five decks, no less: “a catamaran of this size offers incredible possibilities such as having a helipad, taking on board a seaplane (with its wings still connected) thanks to a crane, fitting out a large sports hall, and even a hospital room,” Albert
explained. Security has also been optimized: Spectrum 98 can close off or conceal exterior platforms, side decks and stairwells to minimise opportunities for getting aboard, up to 8 meters (26 feet) above the waterline.
