Solar Explorer 52

A new brand in the electric world!

Solar Explorer is a catamaran brand created by the New Zealand team at Herley Boats to focus on the energy transition in recreational boating. The first model presented is a 52-foot powercat, which is currently in build.

Construction involves a composite sandwich made using the infusion process. The first drawings reveal fairly high hulls with inverted bows, and a flat coachroof roof that extends into a bimini, providing maximum surface area for solar panels. The inverted forward face, extended by a cap, blends perfectly with the interior helm station offset to starboard. Inside, you’ll find very comfortable accommodation - a large galley with central island, a huge open saloon, and an owner’s cabin that makes full use of the available width.
