Electric catamaran builder Soel Yachts is developing a new, larger model, and sistership to the Soel 48. With a length of almost 62 feet (19 meters), those on board will of course be offered impeccable comfort, especially since the manufacturer highlights the customization possibilities of the 62: whether it be the layout of the flybridge (it can be closed, for example) or the cabins, all options are possible.
The modern design is associated with particularly accomplished technology. The Soel Senses 62 has 17.6 kWp of solar energy, which translates into a daily energy production of 40 to 50 kWh (in good weather). Regarding the propulsion system, the 62 is available in two versions, Cruise and Power. The former has two 100-kW electric motors, a 212-kWh lithium battery pack and a 100-kW generator. This will ensure a cruising speed of 8 knots and a top speed of 12 knots. The 62 Power has a 2 x 200 kW drivetrain and a battery bank that’s also doubled in size, with a generator increased to 150 kW. On board, priority is given to large openings to the outside. The layout inside is designed to accommodate up to nine guests and three crew.
