Four of the biggest catamaran manufacturers - Lagoon, Fountaine-Pajot, Catana-Bali and Nautitech - have released a joint press release concerning a recall campaign for Goïot System’s escape hatches delivered before September 2018.
These products present “a risk of detachment of the glazing of these hatches, which could jeopardize the safety of navigation”. All the manufacturers and dealers concerned have already launched this recall campaign. However, they can obviously only target multihulls they sold new. We are therefore relaying this information in order to alert owners who purchased second-hand multihulls. In concrete terms, the manufacturers recommend not to sail before obtaining and setting up a kit designed for each model potentially equipped with defective hatches. It will then be necessary to install new hatches, whose glazing is now fixed to the frame by gluing and screwing. For any further information and particularly to find out if your multihull is affected by this recall campaign, contact the manufacturers without delay - in the first instance by consulting their websites and/or their dealers.
