Go ahead and jump!

These images that inspired the cover of the 200th issue of the French edition of Multihulls World are now undoubtedly etched in the collective subconscious of all us multihull enthusiasts... 51 years after the famous “Flying Cat” scene immortalized by R. Paul Allen's Nikon, a seasoned sailor replayed the match on the east coast of Australia, in Jervis Bay. (Pictures: © Bradley Sissins/Hobie Asia Pacific)

Taking advantage of a 20-foot perpendicular to a powerful wind (more than 45 knots!), Mick Butler took off aboard Hobie 14 catamaran, a model built in Europe in the early 1970s. The intrepid sailor managed to make a leap of anthology, largely to the level of the original. Just to add to the story, reported by Hobie Asia Pacific, the images captured by Bradley Sissins in pouring rain were also captured on a Nikon camera...
