Born on June 3rd 1986 in Manacor, on the island of Mallorca (Balearic Islands, Spain), Rafael Nadal is without doubt one of the top tennis players in the world. A professional since 2001, the champion, who has won no less than 19 Grand Slam titles, has always enjoyed yachting: he has owned a Monte Carlo 76. But he seems to have caught the multihull bug, as he recently chartered a Sunreef sailing catamaran before taking delivery of his 80 Sunreef Power.
For Francis Lapp, president and founder of the shipyard, this was a day to be remembered: “It was an unforgettable event for our shipyard, to hand over the yacht to such an incredible person and athlete as Rafael Nadal. My team at Gdańsk did everything possible to create the yacht that Rafa and his wife Maria have dreamed of. I’m sure they will have a great time with their friends and family on board.” Launched back in May in Poland, the 80 Sunreef Power ordered by Rafael Nadal was delivered “home” to Mallorca.
