Used to taking family vacations on the island of Ibiza, the Argentine soccer star with eight Ballon d’Or awards to his credit has taken the plunge and become a boatowner!
The footballer is launching three catamarans for charter. The sailing program will mainly take in the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean during the summer, then the Caribbean for the winter season.
Since 2017, Lionel Messi has been associated with the Majestic Group in four luxury waterfront hotels and two more in the mountains. MIM, the company acronym for Messi and Majestic, will be supported by Med Cat Yachts based out of Port Ginesta, southwest of Barcelona, Spain, for the operational side of things.
The chosen catamaran model is the BALI 5.4, the flagship of the range. With space of nearly 1,360 square feet (126 m²), this multihull is ideally suited to luxury charter, with six double cabins and six bathrooms. All three units will have their genoas flocked with the player’s effigy.
