The new generation Outremer 45 has become as iconic as its predecessor designed by Gérard Danson... but the time has come to renew and harmonize the range in the spirit of the 55 and 52. And it is in this spirit that the Outremer 48 has just been presented.
Scheduled to splash in 2026, this new model will aim to strike the perfect balance between performance and comfort. Displacement has increased from 8.7 t (19,180 lbs) to 10.5 t (23,150 lbs), but the sail area to weight ratio – at least compared to the standard 45 – is still higher at 12.57 m²/t as opposed to 12.18 m²/t for the old model.
The interior layout has been significantly optimized compared to that of the 45, favoring light and space and is available in 10 versions with a port forward cabin that can be customized on demand (or almost) - single/double/triple cabin, office, workshop, dressing room or even children’s play area. The large cockpit, which integrates into the galley thanks to the large bay windows, offers an “adaptable” helm station like that of the 52 and 55: the wheel can be tilted to 4 different positions to suit to the style of sailing and the current weather conditions.
