Nautitech have taken advantage of the International Multihull Show to present their next model, due to splash in a year’s time, with the shipyard revealing a relatively disruptive catamaran in the rather conservative and orderly world of the current Open range.
The 41 Type S deliberately has a stripped-back look (although options are available for a more complete equipment package) in order to achieve a target light displacement of just 9 tons and a particularly competitive price of €440,000 before tax. The emphasis has been placed on performance and ease of handling, which ruled out the addition of daggerboards but still led to the proposal of a powerful rig with an overlapping headsail. This upcoming replacement for the 40 Open should stand out from the current production by its design, which incorporates the possibility of a “reshape” from the outset, meaning that the owner can transform their catamaran if they wish to change their program. Later, on the second-hand market, the 41 Type S will offer its new buyer the possibility of customizing their new multihull as well.
