McConaghy has begun construction of its largest multihull. Largest so far that is, as two bigger models, the MC100 and MC115, are announced. The MC82p was commissioned by an experienced owner looking for a multiyacht for family use for weekend cruising as well as some long passagemaking.
In order to limit consumption and increase range, the builder opted for carbon/epoxy construction combined with motors limited to 300 HP. The objective is not to break speed records – the owner will be satisfied with a cruising speed of 10 knots and 17 flat out. The interior, worthy of a luxury villa, can accommodate eight guests in four double cabins with private bathrooms spread out through the hulls. The two crew cabins can accommodate four. Launch is scheduled for March 2023.
