The Makai M45 reveals a sporty line with its “blunt” bows whose slope is decidedly inversed. The deck sheer, also inverted, contributes to the success of this design, as do the anti-spray chines and the pattern of the lateral windows.
As with some sailing catamarans such as the Lagoon or the Nautitech Open 46, the Makai M45 is using the idea of two available deck plans, giving either a Sedan or a Flybridge version. The former is more elegant, and also means less windage. The latter obviously offers additional space for relaxation - there is already 345 square feet (32 m²) of usable deck space with the cockpit and the rigid foredeck - and an outside helm station. One point to check: the side access to the flybridge on the starboard side seems pretty steep. Inside, the manufacturer promises a large nacelle, an 8.1 cu ft (230 l) refrigerator and perfectly soundproofed double cabins.
