JFA Yachts are continuing to develop their Long Island catamaran range (see full review of their 78 in MW176). These powercats stand out from their competitors, having aluminum hulls and composite decks. The manufacturer based in Concarneau, in western France, has just announced the Long Island 86 Power: this is a new model that will be available either with conventional or with hybrid propulsion.
The first version presented is characterized by a very large flybridge, a real upper deck that incorporates a helm station, a sheltered bar and a large saloon area. There is also the option of an enclosed wheelhouse, similar to that on the Long Island 78 Power. The coachroof will be fitted with solar panels to reduce the amount of generator use when at anchor.
The 86 Power has a large outdoor/indoor living space on the main deck thanks to its width of over 37 feet (11 meters). On the foredeck - accessible from the interior saloon - a Jacuzzi adds to the on-board comfort. The aft platform, where the indispensable tender is stowed when under way, is transformed into a relaxation area and a great location for plenty of nautical entertainment.
The 86 Power is designed for eight guests with four beautiful, bright cabins including an owner's cabin. It can accommodate up to four crew members. The interior design by Darnet Design can of course be customized to suit.
