South African builders Robertson & Caine have kept their word: their new powercat, the 40PC, was launched late November.
This compact model precisely reproduces the design codes - such as the long hull window – proudly sported by its bigger siblings, the 53 and 46PC. In terms of comfort, the 40PC seems to be brilliantly holding its own, with a very large flybridge and a beautiful living area with an L-shaped galley that is even more functional than announced, with a new refrigerator layout. As expected, there is an interior helm station – something absent on the previous model 43PC. The cabins won’t disappoint - all of them feature island beds and bathrooms. When undertaking its first sea trials, the deep, hollowed-out form of the hulls on the outboard was clearly noticeable, as were the very aft-set rudders. The Leopard 40PC will be making its premiere at the Miami International Boat Show in February, and we’ve already booked an appointment for an exclusive test drive!
