Eclectic naval architect and sailor Dan Leech offers a full range of compact powercats for both professional and amateur construction using pre-laminated composite panels cut by CNC machining.
His latest model is the Leech 38, whose semi-displacement hulls are an evolution of a previous design. The superstructure, deck layout and interior, however, are new and reflect an optimization of interior/exterior circulation. The cockpit has a complete outdoor galley, including refrigerator, sink and grill that are retractable under a composite cover. The cockpit also features wide L-shaped seating and a side access door for easy boarding via the aft platform. The saloon features a double helm seat, a galley unit forward to port housing the refrigerator, a large galley aft, and an L-shaped sofa with table. The layout also includes two cabins. Propulsion will be provided by a pair of inboard diesels.
