When a shipyard celebrates its 40th anniversary, and that shipyard is defending its reputation as the world’s leading builder of cruising multihulls, you might as well go big. That’s why the traditional Escapade owners’ gatherings, organized jointly by Lagoon and the brand’s dealers, were held on the same weekend this year.

With a few rare exceptions - such as Japan, which was forced to bring the date forward - 30 nations took part. On May 18 and 19, 2,400 crew aboard 400 Lagoon catamarans celebrated the brand’s 40th anniversary. At the yard’s headquarters, everything had been planned: Lagoon dances and cocktail parties, photos and videos in real time... Multihulls World joined the party in Göcek, Turkey, where the largest Lagoon gathering ever took place, with 40 multihulls ranging from 40 to 67 feet. With racing, watersports and games, fun-filled evenings and, finally, a grand parade to celebrate the Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day, the event delighted everyone who took part.
