It is March 12, 2020, somewhere after 7pm. So far, so good. It's been a little over six months since I joined the fine Multihulls World team and things are going great.
Cannes Yachting Festival, the Paris boat show, Boot Düsseldorf… I'm starting to understand why people get so attached to this big nautical family so quickly. And when I'm working from home, it's a real eye-opener: I'm 100% operational right after breakfast and a shower; I lose no time commuting.
7:59 pm: we turn on the TV. 8 pm: Emmanuel Macron's speech begins and our President throws in a game changer, telling us that “As of Monday and until further notice, all nurseries, schools, colleges, high schools and universities will be closed”.
Shall I set the scene? Charlotte is 10 months old. She's amazing, but naps are not really her thing. And then at that age of course, it's not like we can turn on a cartoon or leave her play by herself just to work on a complicated file or make an important phone call. To make things easier, her Dad is working from home as well. Great, we're going to have a lot of fun. We’re all set for a few weeks of “tele-crèche”.
I would never have thought it possible to write an e-mail while preparing a bottle while keeping an eye on my daughter who’s wondering what this round plug with three holes in it is for... Well now I know!
